Pelicans

Section 7 (a) of the Forest Planning and Practices Regulation states the objective set by government for wildlife is, without unduly reducing the supply of timber from British Columbia’s forests, to conserve a sufficient amount and distribution of areas that provide necessary wildlife habitat for the survival of species at risk.

The Cariboo-Chilcotin Land-Use Plan 90 Day Report specifies that Pelicans be managed around important feeding lakes. See page 156 of the report for more information and subzone specific comments.

There are also Wildlife Habitat Areas and General Wildlife Measures grandparented under Section 11 (b) of the Forest Planning and Practices Regulation for Pelicans.

See section 5 of the Schedule under the Forest Planning and Practices Regulation for factors relating to land use objectives.
